The Industriepark Willstätt plant fire brigade put their skills to the test on the May weekend in Rheinau. 72 fire brigade groups from municipal and plant fire brigades came from the Ortenau district and neighbouring districts. The outstanding performance of the two fire-fighting teams from the Willstätt Industriepark fire brigade was rewarded with the bronze badge awarded by the district fire chief.
The firefighters, led by platoon leader Michael Schäfer, arrived with a special fire engine. Specially equipped for industrial fires with a high-performance pump, it attracted the attention of the other fire brigades and visitors.
The Managing Director of B.I.W. GmbH, Alexander Reichert, congratulated the participants on their success and thanked them for their tireless efforts with a quote from an unknown person: ‘The bravest men and women are those who risk their own lives to save others.’
B.I.W. GmbH, the Industriepark Willstätt operating company, was founded in April 2004 and is a site operator specialising in the management of properties used primarily for technological purposes. At the Willstätt site, B.I.W. GmbH is responsible for the organisation and operation of the site fire brigade.
